The Business Challenge

Buying an established salon requires more than agreeing on a purchase price. A prospective owner needs to understand the business’s earning potential, ongoing operating costs, loan obligations, and cash requirements during the transition.

This project explores how a buyer could evaluate a luxury salon acquisition and present a clear, financially supported plan to potential funding partners.

The IAB Approach

IAB connected the acquisition strategy to an editable financial model. Revenue projections were built around appointment volume, service pricing, and retail purchases, while operating expenses reflected staffing, occupancy, marketing, and other business costs.

The analysis brought together acquisition funding, loan repayments, monthly cash flow, and five-year projections. Downside scenarios tested how lower sales and higher fixed costs could affect cash reserves and debt coverage.
